A graduate of the University of Western Australia Law School and University of British Columbia Law School, Brett Degoldi was called to the bar in Western Australia in 2001 and in Ontario in 2010.
His practice is very specifically focused on family law and helping to negotiate amicable divorces and separation agreements. In 2007 he obtained a Master of Laws from UBC, with a thesis focused on Collaborative Practice.
He is a Collaborative Family Lawyer, trained mediator, a trainer of lawyers and neutral professionals, and an active member of Collaborative Divorce Toronto, York Collaborative Practice, and Collaborative Practice Simcoe County. He works closely with parenting experts and financial experts.
Brett has completed numerous mediation, negotiation and pastoral care programs, and is an ordained minister with Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches. Brett provides a wholistic approach to negotiation and resolution, and is sensitive to faith-based needs to separation and divorce.
Brett also earned a PhD in psychology, and worked for a number of years as a professor in the fields of cognitive and forensic psychology.

Brett is a member of the Law Society of Ontario; and was previously a Dispute Resolution Officer (DRO) in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Family Court Branch (Barrie).

Brett is a dual citizen of Canada and Australia. He has called Canada home since 2010. Brett has travelled widely and has also lived in Melbourne, Perth, Vancouver, Montreal, Toronto, and New York City.
