There is an interesting article in Mashable Social Media. It quotes David McCandless’s research as to when people break up according to their status changes on FaceBook. Apparently, Mr. McCandless looked at the status changes of over 10,000 people who claimed a breakup or separation. It is a  very interesting article. Here are the results graphically:

Mondays are popular. Christmas Day is not. Generally, breakups occur just before major holidays. It looks like April Fool’s Day is a popular day to end relationships. Even Valentine’s Day sees many breakups. Interesting research.
