As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a Legal Administrator to join our St. Catharines office.
This role is ideal for a highly organized and detail-oriented legal professional who enjoys a client-facing role, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and wants to play a meaningful part in establishing and growing a successful office location.
In this role, you will:
• Serve as the first point of contact for clients and visitors, representing GFL with professionalism and empathy
• Provide day-to-day administrative and legal support to lawyers and law clerks
• Manage billing, accounts receivable, and retainer administration in alignment with firm policies
• Support file management, scheduling, and office operations
• Contribute to firm-wide initiatives as needed
You will work closely with our legal team to ensure efficient file flow and exceptional client service. As our St. Catharines office grows, this position offers real opportunity for expanded responsibility and career development within GFL.
What we’re looking for
- Legal education (Law Clerk, Paralegal, or Legal Administration diploma/certificate preferred)
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in a law firm or legal environment; direct family law experience is strongly preferred
- Strong working knowledge of Ontario legal procedures, terminology, and documentation
- Experience with client billing, accounts receivable, and retainer management
- Ability to manage competing priorities independently in a deadline-driven environment
- Comfort using modern legal technology and practice management tools (Clio experience is a strong asset)
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and written communication skills
- Professional, client-focused, and collaborative approach
- Familiarity with the Niagara Region and/or St. Catharines community is a strong asset
