Elan grew up in Toronto as a first-generation Canadian born to parents from Mexico City. He has a Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and criminology from Western University. He obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Windsor and was awarded the Judge Bruce J. S. MacDonald award for oral advocacy.
Elan started his legal career in civil litigation helping victims receive compensation for their losses. His desire to play a bigger role in people’s day-to-day lives steered him towards family law where he has since used his patience, empathy, and knowledge to help individuals and their families. He has extensive experience across all areas of family law and enjoys applying his personal interest in finance to complex financial disputes.
Goals
Elan takes the time to really get to know his client so that he can understand their needs at every stage of the process. He explains the law in very clear terms and works closely with his clients to help them make informed decisions to reach their desired outcome. He combines prudence with strong written and oral advocacy to deliver meaningful results. Elan finds alternative dispute resolution to be the most gratifying process but is a skilled and well-respected litigator.
Personal Life
In his spare time Elan enjoys sports, road-tripping, gardening, and reading about finance and economics. He is a candy aficionado and is determined to try every pizzeria in the GTA.
