Finalizing Your Divorce: The Last Step Toward Closure

At the beginning of your relationship, you shared hopes, plans, and excitement for the future. When a marriage ends, it is often accompanied by disappointment, sadness, and grief. Divorce is not just a legal process, it is also an emotional one.

Legally, a divorce is a court order that dissolves your marriage. It is a document that brings closure to the legal relationship between you and your former spouse.

What Is an Uncontested Divorce?

An uncontested divorce is typically the final step once you and your spouse have already resolved the important matters through a separation agreement.

This includes agreements around:

  • Parenting time and custody
  • Child and spousal support
  • Division of property and debts

If you cannot agree on these issues and your case goes to court, the divorce comes after a judge has made decisions on your behalf.

How Much Does It Cost?

We offer uncontested divorces at a flat rate of $2,500,

Which includes:

  • HST
  • All court filing fees and disbursements
  • The complete handling of your file from start to finish

This rate applies to clients where at least one person lives in Simcoe County or York Region.

How Long Does It Take?

The divorce process usually takes five to seven months from the time we file until the final court order is issued. While timelines may vary depending on court processing times, we work efficiently to move things forward with minimal stress on your end.

Ready to Take the Final Step?

We help dozens of clients finalize their divorces each year, and we are here to make the process as clear, supportive, and cost-effective as possible.
