John Ewen

Education and Experience

John has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Waterloo, a Bachelor of Laws from Queen’s University, and a Master of Industrial Relations from Queen’s.

John is originally from Kitchener-Waterloo, where he articled. He moved to Simcoe County in 2008, and previously worked at Galbraith Family Law from 2010 – 2014, before opening his own firm and running his family law practice as a partner from 2014 to 2026.

John is excited to be returning to work with his friends and colleagues at Galbraith Family Law after 12 years away.

John has many years of experience in both out-of-court negotiations, as well as family court litigation.

John is the current chair of Collaborative Practice Simcoe County (CPSC) and always enjoys working with other collaborative professionals.

Personal Life

In his spare time, John’s favourite sport is cross-country skiing, and he skis for as long as the winter season will allow. During the summers, he spends time at an island cottage in Muskoka, which provides an endless supply of forestry, plumbing, electrical and carpentry challenges for him to work on.
